Zhibek Mussurgaliyeva is the second artist from Kazakhstan to perform in Bucharest, following the concert held by pianist Amir Tebenikhin, a laureate of the George Enescu international Competition and soloist during the opening concert of the 2014 edition. The 17-year-old violinist has been a student of the Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana since the age of 4, having received numerous international awards such as the Hope Prize at the 2012 P. I. Tchaikovsky International Youth Competition in Geneva, or the First Prize at the 2015 F. Mansurov Festival in Moscow.
